Jean-Marc Oppenheim, a historian of the Middle East, is on the faculty of the Social Studies Program at Teachers College, and the Outreach Lecturer for the Middle East Institute of Columbia University. He is also adjunct faculty in the Department of History and the Middle East Studies Program of Fordham University. He teaches courses on the history, culture, and politics of the Middle East and Islam. He is a frequent commentator on Middle East affairs in international, national, and regional media.
