Brian Allen Drake is Senior Lecturer in the history department at the University of Georgia (UGA), where he specializes in environmental history: a discipline which explores the intricate ways in which nature has affected human history. He was the first-ever recipient of the Amanda and Greg Gregory Undergraduate Teaching Award, and in 2019 received the Park-Heggoy Graduate Faculty Teaching Award. Professor Drake is the author of Loving Nature, Fearing the State: Environmentalism and Antigovernment Politics Before Reagan, and the editor of The Blue, the Gray, and the Green: Toward an Environmental History of the Civil War.
