Patrick Griffin is the Madden-Hennebry Professor of History at the University of Notre Dame. He has published books on early America, the American Revolution, and the Age of Atlantic Revolutions. His most recent book is “The Townshend Moment: Empire and Revolution in the Eighteenth Century,” published by Yale University Press. He has won university-wide teaching awards at three institutions, including the University of Virginia, where he taught previously, and at Notre Dame.
