Most Americans are familiar with Veterans Day: the federal holiday observed annually on November 11th to honor and remember all members of our armed forces. But today marks another significant observance that may not be as familiar.
When President Trump signed into law “The Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017,” he officially designated every March 29th — the date when our last U.S. combat troops left South Vietnam — as National Vietnam War Veterans Day.
This year, on the war’s fiftieth anniversary, Americans across the country will honor the millions of Vietnam veterans and their families who bravely served and sacrificed so much for our nation.
